oh no. what happened to Chocolat? when i first heard her "Hamster" album, i was hooked. a perfect pop record! i searched out her first full album called "One Too Many Chocolat" and found it to be equally great. when "Henry" came out, i was a little worried because it lacked that spark that was so charming in her early albums; but was still pretty good. well...now i happen to live in japan and i can skip down to my record store anytime i want and find Chocolat cd's. :) but when i bought "Chocolat Notes" and put it in my stereo, i was sorely dissapointed. there's a lack of something here...everything sounds so synthetic and not fun. there's a few good melodies, but they are all hdden behind inhuman blips and bleeps. don't get me wrong, i like electronic music...but this is just not well done. and who thought it would be a good idea to cover Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up?" aaaarrgh. painful. Chocolat, i love your music and i think you are super great and wonderfuly talented, but this direction is all downhill.
