It hasn't really gotten a lot of use yet, so can't attest to the "durability." But, I had a specific dimension requirement for my space...and, it works perfectly for what I needed.I's nice looking and "feels" sturdy...yet, still not too heavy if it needs moved.I've got this ottoman sitting at the foot of my bed as I open the bedroom door so I can kick my shoes into it as I get home. The product itself is great. Plenty of space for shoes, decent storage, even the seat is comfy to sit in for a few minutes. The only issue was assembly. There weren't instructions included, nor was there a link to instructions on the product listing on Amazon. I had to find the product on Home Depot and use the instructions there to put it together. Then, for assembly itself, you have to use an allen wrench to put everything in place, which is a real pain with how long a few of the screws are. Once you get past the assembly stage, though, everything is great.Doesn’t look fake!SturdyVery comfortable and sturdy. Looks great at the foot of my bed. This is the perfect solution to a fairly specific problem: having a firm bench for changing shoes when coming into the house from outdoors as well as stashing small outdoor items like gloves, scarves, and masks out of sight. Several things it's not: it's not for lounging (it's quite firm, very supportive for bending over to change shoes, but not a place to relax); it's not fine furniture (it looks great, but if you're a detail fanatic you might not be pleased with small imperfections in finish and upholstery); it's not a huge storage bin (it's inside storage space is shallow, ample for small soft items and maybe shoes, but it won't swallow bigger stuff -- check the dimensions -- and boots have to go on the shelf). We got the "linen-look" upholstery and are completely satisfied. The lift mechanism for access to the storage bin works flawlessly and easily, but note that it requires an inch or so of clear space behind the bench to pivot into so the bench can't be shoved tight to the wall. It's heavy enough that it stays put in use and doesn't slide around when you're trying to tie your shoes. Assembly tip: leave the fasteners slightly loose until the whole thing is together, then go around again for the final tightening (it needed a little play for everything to line up right). The bench happened to be a perfect fit for the space available at our front door, so for us it's a very attractive and economical solution, exactly the right choice.Wonderful foot stoolAfter over 6 months of daily use, it's time to do a review on this bench. Quality is OK for this price range. Assembly was fairly easy. The overall appearance is good. Black color makes dust very visible and needs to be dusted more often. The only complaint is that the top padding became flat on spots used most. All in all, it is a functional piece of furniture at a fair price. In the past, I had purchased another version of this bench....black vinyl and brown wood. I upgraded my bed and decided to purchase the gray fabric version and I am highly disappointed. First off, it is not nearly as long as the first one and more narrow. Shame on me for that one for assuming that they were the same size. The dimensions are listed but, as I said, I assumed. The big issue is the sturdiness of the bench. The first one was/is wonderful. Let me say that I weigh 215 lbs. The max weight is listed at 250 lbs. This bench creaks and moans every time I sit on it. I fear that it is going to collapse under my weight. I am to the point where I just want to trash it. It's almost worthless. It was easy to assemble, but terrible quality and does not in any way constitute value for the money. I should have tossed my money out of my car window. I should have returned it, but I have been doing a lot of traveling and have now missed the window for a return. Live and learn, I guess. I DO NOT recommend purchasing this item. I would even be concerned that they lessened the quality of the first one I purchased so I would not recommend buying any of this line. Buyer beware. This is gorgeous! Easy to put together. Worth the wait! I just put it together by myself. Took others advice and didn’t tighten anything up until the end. Love it!Perfect for sitting on when putting on shoes / boots. We store dog leashes, gloves and knit caps in the storage section and there's still room left. The material isn't leather but isn't cheap looking either. It's a nice rich espresso with a black wood base and looks great in our entry way. We've received many compliments for this piece.Just received an order , looks good my only problem that one leg came without nut, my wife really like this ottoman and it's taking to long to send it back and order new one so guys if you can to send me a nut I will definitely rise the rating for now I just moved one from the top side of the legReally handy bench - it was very easy to assemble. The storage area isn't super deep, but is perfect for our gloves, scarves, and other winter wear. The combination of storage and shoe rack is very convenient and it makes for a perfect place to sit while putting on your shoes.Exactly what I wanted for the intended space. Arrived quickly, even before they said it would. Have patience in assemblying, line the bolt holes up carefully and be sure the bolts thread correctly. Don't force them or you'll strip the threads. If they're not screwing in nicely, back off and re-align.
