A book about magic and chocolate? Of course it's a sweet read! And the cat steals the show!Do read the first book. While magic may be of assistance, in book one it is clear the knowledge and skill of a master chocolatier is also required. Fascinating! In book two, things are evolving. The prejudice against the chocolate shop is lightening a bit. The village's resident Lord's interest in Caitlyn is slowly growing. Caitlyn learns a bit more about her family. There's more magic at play. And another death occurs.A theme here: in both books the murders were of people who won't be missed. In fact, people may have suspected there would "not be a good end" for the victims, only to be proven right.Caitlyn's search to learn about her family and acceptance of her own magic is an ongoing plot, part of the core story. The deaths happen, are quite a puzzle to solve, then are done, while the core story continues. I love the mysteries and I love the depth the core story brings. As anxious as I am for Caitlyn's mystery to be solved, I appreciate the storytelling process. Along the way there are some fun surprises and plot twists. My thanks to Writer H Y Hanna and Kindle Unlimited. This is a clean read and there's no gore either.Happy reading!
