Papa Nicholas Hot Cocoa was ranked number 1 in a recent taste test on a cooking blog I follow, so being a fan of hot cocoa I thought I'd try it. All other instant cocoas I have tried taste a little thin on their own. I don't even bother with vending machine or restaurant cocoa any more, because they are just flavored water. Keurig hot chocolate (which a friend thought really good) wasn't much better. So mostly I've been sticking with supermarket cocoas, like Swiss Miss, and then doctoring them up with creamer. Papa Nicholas isn't like that. It's the first one I've tried that did not require added creamer -- in fact, it was not particularly improved with creamer or half and half. It is, hands down, the best tasting instant cocoa I've ever drunk. It has the added advantage that If I use boiling water from my teapot, it dissolves completely, unlike some others, that leave an unsightly ring of wasted chocolate at the bottom of the cup.My main complaints are the expense (about a buck a serving, compared with Swiss Miss at $0.14), and the fact that it doesn't seem to be available anywhere within about six area codes. Also, it's only available in 60z serving packets, which means it's not easy to customize for a bigger cup.
